Speaker 1:Cuarenta yucho, also known as 99.
Speaker 3:Next week's a big week.
Speaker 1:Wow, I can't believe we've gone 99 straight weeks without a day off. It's amazing. That's perseverance. Right Tink yeah, it is Determination.
Speaker 3:Dedication.
Speaker 1:Dedication Drive. So happy Black Friday. Tink, yeah, it is determination dedication drive.
Speaker 3:So happy black friday. Hope you all had a fabulous turkey day. Yes, I think. I don't even think we mentioned in the podcast last week that it was thanksgiving no, because?
Speaker 1:well, because it was so far away from the thanksgiving, but it's only Thanksgiving here in the USA anyway.
Speaker 3:Yeah, and if we look at our territories, of our listeners, we have listeners all over the world.
Speaker 1:Yeah, so they'd be like what are they talking about?
Speaker 3:Well, no, I think they know what. Don't the other countries know what Thanksgiving is? I?
Speaker 1:guess so Well, we know what Boxing Day is, yeah, but I don't know. We probably don't know 90% of the things the other countries know. What Thanksgiving is, I guess so Well, we know what Boxing Day is, yeah, but I don't know. We probably don't know 90% of the things in other countries. Holidays yeah, true, so well, it was Thanksgiving in the USA yesterday. Hopefully everybody had delicious turkey dinner.
Speaker 3:So good.
Speaker 1:So good, I'm still full. Delicious, delicious, yummy. And today in the USA it's called Black Friday Black Friday. Oh no, it's Black Fur-iday. Black Fur-iday, Right Exactly, tink, it's a Black Fur-iday, well, and that means that, like you're supposed to go shopping today and get special sales.
Speaker 3:For Christmas presents.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 3:Or just anything.
Speaker 1:And boy do I have something to tell you. We have all of our GPS Tinkerbell, the Dog and Bell merch on sale. 30% off, that's huge. You gotta head to the shop. You can go through our Instagram. The link tree has the link to go shopping. Everything is 30% off. You've got to go Like. We never get a sale like that.
Speaker 3:Yeah, it's a pretty good sale.
Speaker 1:Pretty good sale. I'm going to hook me up with some new hoodies. I'd like another color please.
Speaker 3:Yeah.
Speaker 1:Many more colors. So that's today. What else I think? So let me get to the banter, because I'm going to just start talking and I'll forget everything else we have so much banter. So much banter. So first, what happened? We both had a callback for a job that's shooting next week. We don't know if we got it or not, but we'll find out. Then we took our bubble bath and then we packed, we got on the train and headed to Hotel 48 Lex, yes we did.
Speaker 1:Which we had told you two weeks ago that we were going to be doing this podcast from wherever we were, but we ended up wanting to do it back in the studio, so it sounded extra good for you.
Speaker 3:Yeah, so we made it back here we made it back here. Let's just wait, I know it's late like you guys are gonna get the podcast a little late today, but today you'll have tea with our podcast, yes, afternoon high tea.
Speaker 1:So, um, let me tell you, we get to hotel 48 lex and as soon as we walk in the door because we've been there once before everyone in the place hi Tinkerbell, hi Bill, welcome back, welcome back, welcome back. Oscar takes us up to the penthouse. So happy and it's beautifully decorated for Christmas, by the way.
Speaker 3:Oh, yes, the lobby.
Speaker 1:Yeah. So Oscar takes us up to the penthouse, he opens the door and we have presents. We have this bed that is a double bed connected to each other. It was so fun, tink had one side, I had the other, and it said, tink, we got these personalized bandanas. That are really cute.
Speaker 3:Yeah, they literally made us bandanas with our names on them.
Speaker 1:Our names on them and Hotel 48 Lux All in all. Yeah, and one side of the bed had tinks and one side had mine and it was just so great. And, oh, lots of food presents and treat presents, and let's talk about the view. So at this penthouse you've probably been following along and seeing some of our stories. The most magnificent thing is that we have this entire outdoor rooftop for ourselves. You can fit a couple cars on here. That's how big it is it's pretty big. And you see the whole skyline. It's just amazing.
Speaker 1:It's gorgeous, so we had coffee out there. We had a lot happening out there, but it was just. It's just so great to be in this penthouse and we even had Thanksgiving there. It was just so much fun. So, thank you, hotel 48, lex, we love you and we can't wait to return. Yeah, what else happened this week? We went to this movie theater. Okay, guys, let me tell you about this movie theater. We got to go to this movie theater. It was downtown in Wall Street, was it Tink Wall Street?
Speaker 3:area, wall Street area. Yeah, on Liberty Street it's called Alamo Alamo Dining Draft House. Ohamo Alamo Dining Drafthouse.
Speaker 1:Oh yeah, Alamo Drafthouse Theaters. So here we're expecting. Okay, it's another movie theater where they'll bring you food.
Speaker 2:Well, no, this is a restaurant.
Speaker 1:They give you a menu like a restaurant. The only negative thing was the seats are a little narrow, so we fit great compared to ipic.
Speaker 3:Yeah, yeah, compared to ipic, they were a little more narrow but the service fabulous so cool it was amazing.
Speaker 1:You just push a button and that's light goes on and a person comes right over yeah they give you unlimited soda, they give you unlimited popcorn, they give you anything you can want to eat. You can order, and here's the thing, it wasn't even expensive well, no, it was expensive it was.
Speaker 3:I don't think so well compared to other things. Compared like, if someone from not new york went there, they probably would be like their eyes bulging out of their head. Well, actually there is one in texas right in texas yeah so maybe I don't know.
Speaker 1:I don't know. I didn't think it was. We've gone to these expensive theaters, movie theaters. I didn't find this as pricey yeah, I didn't find it.
Speaker 3:I mean we both got dinners. Yes, popcorn, popcorn drinks soda and it was.
Speaker 1:It was actually pretty reasonable compared to going to dinner like at a restaurant and the movie cost like okay, so you buy a ticket and what was it like five dollars or something no, it was nine dollars, which I thought was weird yeah, so it's less money to buy I guess because they're making all the money on the food, yeah, so I guess everyone who goes there knows it's a dinner restaurant.
Speaker 3:I think you have to order food. Oh, you do, or you have to order something. At least I don't know. Is there a minimum? Did I say that it's like going?
Speaker 1:to a restaurant. There's Six page menu. I've never seen anything and they're totally allergy friendly, gluten free. They have dairy free options, they have everything. It was just so much fun, that's why I liked that one the best. I liked it the best too, because they're aware of allergies. Yeah, and I thought the quality and the sound of the movie was perfect.
Speaker 3:Yeah, and it was small because I was like I didn't know what to expect because what? There were four rows, five rows Five, five rows.
Speaker 1:It's more intimate.
Speaker 3:Yes, but it actually felt really big.
Speaker 1:Really big because it's very wide. It's wide but it's only five rows deep, so I guess it's like being in a restaurant sort of, and the seats really go back, like your feet go all the way up and they're very nice seats. They're not. They don't need to be redone, they are brand new, like. I highly recommend it. The movie Moana 2, by the way. It was okay, it was good, we enjoyed it. It wasn't great. I wouldn't tell everyone run to it.
Speaker 1:Here we go again we're two for two, with not running to a movie. Sorry guys, we're very critical, I guess. But anyway, so we did that which was fun, because it just feels like Thanksgiving when you go to the movies. What else? Oh yeah. Then we walked around the city and we wanted to see the tree before it gets lit this coming Wednesday. So we go there, and we can't go because we're spotted. Tinkerbell bell, tinkerbell bell. We were spotted, but it was fabulous.
Speaker 3:Yeah.
Speaker 1:So that was really fun. The tree looks really great.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:And it didn't have scaffolding, it didn't have lighting. It was perfect. What else did we do? Oh yeah, we watched the Lindsay Lohan Christmas movie with Kristen Chenoweth.
Speaker 3:Yes, we did. Finally, it was out.
Speaker 1:We got to watch it. I liked it. It was okay Wow.
Speaker 3:We're like really intense critics no, it was cute, it was okay. Wow. We're like really intense critics no, but we enjoyed it. No, it was cute, it was enjoyable. It was enjoyable that we got through it. That's what I say, because a lot of the time I feel like our pause will just hit. Pause, hit, go and hit. No, we will hit, stop.
Speaker 1:Yeah and Go to the next movie. I mean, oh, okay, like We'll hit, stop yeah and Go to the next movie.
Speaker 3:I mean, oh okay, like pass, move on. Yeah, we didn't pass and move on, we stayed for the entire movie. Yeah, we did Well.
Speaker 1:we stayed in our penthouse suite for the entire movie, but we got to see that.
Speaker 3:We watched the whole. Thing.
Speaker 1:We got up and watched the. It was pouring rain yesterday, on Thanksgiving, so we stayed in the hotel because it was pouring.
Speaker 3:And it was fabulous. I was excited to just stay in PJs and watch the shows.
Speaker 1:Yeah, what else that's about it? We had the yummy dinner we got up this morning, we headed back to home. We're in studio now. Black Friday sale just happening for our merch, gps and Tinkerbell merch. That's great. I'm very excited because I don't think we've had a Black Friday sale, have we?
Speaker 3:I think we did last year we did yeah we did last year we did. Yeah, we did.
Speaker 1:Oh, I don't remember. Yeah, so here we are. Happy Friday, happy episode 99. What else?
Speaker 2:Did.
Speaker 1:I leave anything out. We love you. Hotel 48 Lex.
Speaker 3:I don't know.
Speaker 1:We love the penthouse. It's called the Lexington Penthouse, by the way.
Speaker 2:If you want to go check it out.
Speaker 1:Go check it out. And now I guess we'll head to Tink for Pop culture. Tink Pop culture.
Speaker 3:Hit it Tink. What's up everyone? This is Tinkerbell with your pop culture.
Speaker 1:Tinkerbell's still in her turkey mode.
Speaker 3:I am in my turkey mode, so I guess we'll start with news of the day of the Black Friday, which is that Taylor Swift's the Errors Tour book is released today, and I know we weren't that excited about it when we said no, I'm not excited. But just some interesting things about it. The new Eras Tour book cannot become a New York Times bestseller, no matter its inevitable success, because she only released it at Target. A title sold exclusively by a single vendor does not qualify for tracking.
Speaker 1:I think she probably knew that.
Speaker 3:Yeah, I mean, I don't think this is the book you want on your New York Times bestseller list.
Speaker 1:I mean it's going to sell more than any other book in history, so what does she care?
Speaker 3:I don't know. Well then, I guess she could have just gotten it. Why didn't she do it? She's got a deal with target it's the target deal and it and it.
Speaker 1:It's just sold in person.
Speaker 3:It's sold in person at target on black friday, so of course all the swifties have went to target and waited online for this morning yeah, I don't think last night, because they're not.
Speaker 1:No, this morning Opened early.
Speaker 3:Yeah, all the Swifties were there in the morning and they got their book and everyone's posting it and I'm sorry but these paws were not getting up that early to get a book.
Speaker 1:We are at a luxury penthouse, we're good and you know what else. I think it's helping the targets throughout the nation. Get people in the stores. Get people in the store. Get them to buy more stuff.
Speaker 3:Maybe she owns part of no well, that probably was target's deal. They were like let's get people in the stores on black friday, so you do it exclusively for us, yeah, and now you have all these bodies in the store, they're obviously going to buy more things.
Speaker 1:Yeah, because who goes to Target and buys just one thing, one thing no one. No, it's impossible, and they always have such fun stuff around the holidays.
Speaker 3:I know, just sucks you in.
Speaker 1:Yeah, sucks you in. You did a commercial for them.
Speaker 3:Yes, I did.
Speaker 1:Mm-hmm.
Speaker 3:Ah yeah, back in the day, epic, it was Popping out of that bag.
Speaker 1:I wasn't here for it, but I saw it.
Speaker 3:Yeah, you did, and it was really good. And on top of that news we have that Kylie Kelsey, jason Kelsey's wife, is launching her own brutally honest podcast.
Speaker 1:She's gonna do it.
Speaker 3:The Kelsey clan is taking their podcasting empire to newer heights. While brothers Jason and Travis Kelsey have taken over the podcasting game with their New Heights podcast, kylie Kelsey is getting in on the action with her own show that will premiere on December 5th Soon that's next. December 5th Soon that's next week. Yeah, wild, I'm excited, me too. Kylie, who is the wife of former Eagles star Jason, announced on Monday that she would be launching Not Gonna Lie with Kylie Kelsey next month, with new episodes released weekly on Thursdays.
Speaker 1:Yeah, so we do Fridays and she does Thursdays, so maybe people go from her to us. I don't know.
Speaker 3:And that is the end of the article. How is that the end of the article? Oh, no, the show is being produced by Wave Sports and Entertainment, which had been the same outfit that produced the new heights podcast before it moved to amazon's wondery yes and then, um, I'm just as shocked as all of you that I'm starting a podcast, but if everyone's going to talk about me and my family, you might.
Speaker 3:You might as well hear it from me, kylie said in the trailer that had been released on monday. Kylie also said in the trailer that she would be giving her brutally honest opinions on motherhood, as well as her thoughts on the biggest stories in sports and entertainment. She also teased guest appearances from people she had no business talking to. It's been a very busy week for the Kelsey family, and Kylie specifically.
Speaker 1:Okay so can I say something now I have? Let's say thank you, taylor. You all, like nobody would know you, nobody would in your in that family, would be in the position they're in getting deals and partnerships and social media campaigns and commercials. And if it wasn't for Taylor, so and can I say who Kylie's first guest is?
Speaker 3:This is my next, so my other story is that Kylie Kelsey's new podcast sparks Taylor Swift as guest speculations, so she announced the podcast and then, following this amazing update, taylor Swift fans across social media indulged in discussions predicting that the singer might be the first guest on Kylie Kelsey's podcast. Yes, here's why fans are speculating that Swift will appear on Kylie.
Speaker 1:Kelsey's podcast, because she will make it a success. That's why, well, yes, it a success.
Speaker 3:That's why Well, yes, I know that, but Okay, go. So she announced her own podcast, not gonna lie, by posting a short trailer on her YouTube channel. According to the description of the aforementioned video, the first episode of the podcast starring a mysterious guest, will be out on Thursday, december 5th 2024. However, this has also sparked a rumor among fans that Taylor Swift might be the feature as the first guest for a chat with Kelsey. A Twitter user wrote Kylie Kelsey about to do the one thing Travis and Jason couldn't do get Taylor Swift on a podcast. Meanwhile, another user expressed their excitement about the prediction. They added Taylor wouldn't go on New Heights, but she will go on, not Gonna Lie with Kylie Kelsey.
Speaker 1:It makes sense she's a girl's girl first. Yeah, she's not a sport girl, she's a girl girl.
Speaker 3:However, it's still not confirmed if the lover hitmaker will make it to Kelsey's podcast. Since Taylor Swift will end her Eros tour in December, fans are speculating if she will add the podcast appearance to her schedule. Well, no, they must have already pre-recorded it.
Speaker 1:What's the matter with you people? You don't know that it's pre-recorded.
Speaker 3:They must have pre-recorded already.
Speaker 1:Of course they did, and she's on it, I know she's on it.
Speaker 3:I you think well, this is all speculation, though Do we really think that she?
Speaker 1:is the first guest. Taylor helps everyone and I think she will be on it as the first guest.
Speaker 3:Well, I was under the impression, actually, that she was the first guest, but now it's all just speculation.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I read somewhere it was like Taylor Swift is the guest first guest, but now it's all just speculation. Yeah, I read somewhere it was like taylor swift is the guest first guest. I read that she is not. That it was speculation. I read she is, and not by like a swifty person, it was like a press outlet I saw that on. So I think she must be and it's been leaking slowly, but I don't know maybe fans think.
Speaker 1:Fans think, why fans think so now maybe they're gonna pull her and put her on, maybe the next one, just to make everybody listen and be wrong.
Speaker 3:I don't know, who knows we'll have to see if she was on the podcast. It would be the most successful, successful debuting podcast ever.
Speaker 1:Yes, but all the Swifties are gonna listen to it anyway because, whether she is or isn't, they want to think it's true. Yeah, so True. I think it's good she's doing her own podcast. But again, thank you, taylor. They should all thank Taylor, because nobody knows would know her. True or have interest in her doing anything of a podcast. Yeah, yeah, isn't she pregnant again? Yes, fourth girl. Yeah, four girls.
Speaker 3:Yes, she's pregnant again and she's having another girl.
Speaker 1:He's going to have four girls.
Speaker 3:Good luck Jason.
Speaker 1:That's a lot. Got four. He's gonna have four girls. Good luck, jason. That's, that's a lot, yeah, yeah okay, that's a lot of um dresses running around the house oh gosh, so much drama yeah okay, so next story.
Speaker 3:Next story, we're going to talk about Paris Hilton. Paris Hilton claims she's still never had Botox or fillers. I'm all natural. Paris Hilton is aging backwards Au naturel. The 43-year-old reality star and DJ claimed on the Zach Sang show Friday that she is working on aging in reverse without the help of any cosmetic features. I feel really proud that I'm all natural. She said. I've stayed out of the sun. I've never done any Botox injectables, no surgery, nothing. The star explained that she has maintained her youthful glow thanks to her mom, kathy Hilton's skincare advice.
Speaker 1:Oh boy, 10 steps.
Speaker 3:Who has time for that? Paris also noted she built an incredible in-home spa called the Sliving Spa. It features the most epic LED light therapy, offers hydrafacials and cryotherapy and hosts a hyperbaric chamber. So okay, A hyperbaric chamber is used for oxygen therapy that supplies the person inside with 100% oxygen which can heal damaged tissue. She previously called her spa the fountain of youth. Paris has been maintaining that she has never gone after the knife or gotten injections for years.
Speaker 1:Well, isn't it nice to have billions of dollars to build your own wellness spa in your house, isn't it nice? So she's making like, oh, it's just because she didn't go in the sun. No, you have your own facials, you have your own oxygen things, you have all this other equipment. So, whatever the reason is, it's not because you didn't go in the sun. She does the skincare routine Ten steps. Who has time for that? Plus, goes into her spa every day, probably Mm-hmm. Okay, so you're doing something because nobody normally is like, oh, I'm going to get my oxygen now.
Speaker 3:I'm going to my spa, get my facial. My hyperbaric chamber- it's a little.
Speaker 1:yeah, that's privilege right there. I know, but I mean it's nice Good for her, good for her, yeah, one day, Tink and I will have our own facial spa, hyperbaric chamber, and we will have our own grooming area where they'll take care of our toenails and whiskers and everything.
Speaker 3:I guess. So, yeah, anything else you want to say about that? No, okay, now this one. This one is like the craziest thing so apparent. This is about Luanne one of our favorite, ronis she's a lot too. So this is like a two part story, because we got two stories, one that happened on Monday and then Tuesday, and I just like found it and today's variety yeah, so basically um, luanne de la seps told a story on a podcast about how she was in the hamptons and made out with hugh grant wait what at a restaurant why is she saying anything?
Speaker 1:what is that?
Speaker 3:um, so she kisses and tells yeah, she said how they were at a restaurant in the hamptons a while back and that, no, no, that hugh grant was at a restaurant in the hamptons a while back and someone told her that he was there and she went to the restaurant and told them to give her the table next to him and then ended up talking to him and drinking and then they ended up making out at the restaurant. What the heck. So this was what she claimed on this podcast. So then Hugh Grant now doesn't remember making out with Luann Dulles-Epps in the Hamptons?
Speaker 3:I'm sure Maybe it's made up, it doesn't ring a bell. Hugh Grant said he does not recall making out with Luann Dillisups after she shared that they locked lips during a night of drinking Steady on. I do remember meeting a charming real housewife of New York in a restaurant, but I'd like to stress, it was about 15 years ago. Um. The star wrote on x monday alongside a screenshot of an article about the real housewives of new york's alumni why is she bringing this up now, 15 years or so later?
Speaker 1:why is she going?
Speaker 3:backwards. I think she's just like trying to give. I don't know, I don't know she's trying to make any kind of attention but like but um, he's 15 or so years ago.
Speaker 1:Come on, lady. Yes, was she a housewife, was housewives even on that long ago.
Speaker 3:He writes um, yeah, oh, I think, so I have no idea. Wait, look up when the Housewives of New York premiered and I'll keep talking, okay. So he said. I don't recall shots or kissing, but her memory might be better than mine. He added Grant's post comes three days after Adela Sepps detailed the interaction which took place at Pierre's restaurant in the Hamptons.
Speaker 1:Do you know where that is. So the Real Housewives of New York City premiered on March 4th 2008.
Speaker 3:Oh my gosh.
Speaker 1:Wow, pierre's in that Pierre's.
Speaker 3:Wait, 2008.
Speaker 1:So then, so this is 24.
Speaker 3:So it's been what? 14, 15 years Wait. So she was making out with him when she was married.
Speaker 1:Wait a second Okay, something's wrong here. Was she in the original cast?
Speaker 3:Yes, she was. She's like literally the only OG and. Ramona. So now they're on season 14 or 15, it says here oh, so yeah, so it was like it must have been, so why would?
Speaker 1:she demand a table. Who cares who she was Like? I don't get it.
Speaker 3:Well, no, she was still society, she was a countess. Oh yes, Countess Luanne.
Speaker 1:Countess Luanne.
Speaker 3:Okay, but do you want to hear? This is the quote of what she said.
Speaker 1:Wait, was this restaurant called?
Speaker 3:again Pierre's Restaurant. Have you heard of this restaurant? This is the quote of what she said. Wait, what is this restaurant called? Again Pierre's Restaurant.
Speaker 1:Have you heard of this?
Speaker 3:restaurant. Where is it In?
Speaker 1:the Hamptons Belle. No, when is it? Wait, I'm going to Google that one too.
Speaker 3:Where's Pierre's Restaurant in the Hamptons? Is it probably not even existent? No, it has to be.
Speaker 2:No, oh it's gone.
Speaker 3:No, it has to still be there it's french and it's in bridgehampton.
Speaker 1:Look, oh, I've seen this place. We've passed this place. Yeah, tables are on top of each other, not hard to get next to him, huh wait a girlfriend of mine called me and was like Hugh Grant is at Pierre's.
Speaker 3:I said I'll be right over. I called and said get the table right next to Hugh Grant. She recalled an interview with TooFab. I had my family over, my brother was visiting me and I said let's go.
Speaker 1:And she said peace out.
Speaker 3:No, and she brought her brother, apparently.
Speaker 1:Oh, she brought Wait apparently, oh she brought.
Speaker 3:Oh wait, so all we have to do is is get the brother on a podcast.
Speaker 1:Yeah, brother, you spill the beans. But like, why is she bringing this up?
Speaker 3:now, if it was so many years ago I don't know, but I think it's really funny. The reality she says she began flirting with the Bridget Jones Diary actor 64, after being asked to sit near him in the eatery Sit me right behind him I pushed out my chair real fast and I bumped into him flirting 101. I bumped into him and said oh, I'm so sorry.
Speaker 1:I'm assuming she was not married then? No, I think she was.
Speaker 3:I can't keep track of this lady's marriages, because she was married when the show started.
Speaker 1:That's why she became. Then she got divorced in a couple seasons. Yeah, because the premise of the show was that they were housewives.
Speaker 3:I don't know. Delisep said Grant immediately recognized her because they were both pals with Bravo exec Andy Cohen, so she offered to buy him a drink Wait.
Speaker 1:What he knew who she was because of Andy Cohen.
Speaker 3:I'm so confused, but this is like way before. This is 2008. Wait, this is before. Anything was like popular.
Speaker 1:I think she's a little delusional. Maybe who Grant is right, he didn't remember it for a reason, maybe it didn't happen. Maybe she's making it all up to be like, oh, in my past.
Speaker 2:but it's so long ago that nobody can verify it or or say yes it's true?
Speaker 3:um oh. It says that the bravo liberty was married to alexandra de losps 1993 to 2009. So yes 2008,. She was married. So if this was 15 years ago or I don't know, like before the, I don't know when this actually happened, but Do we think it actually happened? I don't know, but if the brother was with her, that's who we need. We need the story from the brother.
Speaker 1:So 2008 is 16 years ago.
Speaker 3:We need the third story.
Speaker 1:So maybe she was in her second season if it was 15 years ago, because in 2008, that was 16 years ago.
Speaker 3:Okay, so maybe this is like right when they were getting divorced. Yeah, we need the brother.
Speaker 1:Someone get the brother, someone find Luann's brother. If we find him, tell him. The pups are inquiring minds here Inquiring minds.
Speaker 3:Maybe we can find He'll be our first guest.
Speaker 1:Yeah, we never have guests on because we talk too much.
Speaker 3:Yeah, but I mean a guest would be fun, but it would have to be like the most epic guest.
Speaker 1:Yeah, Taylor, Ring her up T rap tank. She kissed you we'll see.
Speaker 3:Okay, and that is the end of my pop culture. I hope you had fun that was fun.
Speaker 1:I did enjoy it. Thanks, it's very strange, but whatever. So welcome to pop pop culture. Strange, but whatever. So welcome to pup culture for today, for writing episode 99. So of course we're starting off with what happened yesterday. Did you all watch the national dog show? So we watched and of course we saw the winner veto the pug. Now I want to say he's cute for a pug. Sorry, I said a little sniffle Tink's making snorting noises I had a sniffle. Is it about Vito?
Speaker 3:No, but I honestly, I saw his little face on that screen and I said that's the winner.
Speaker 1:No, but also like we know a lot of pugs, or have met a lot of pugs, or have worked with a lot of pugs. Whatever be the case, this guy is different. Oh yeah, he's very special. I love how he stands. Look at that. Look at that. And I'm not Guys, you know me. I tell you the truth. I don't have a filter. I'm not a fan of pugs, but I am a fan of pugs Mm-hmm, but I am a fan of Vito. So I want to say congratulations to Vito. He is really cute and he won the whole show. Look at that. And when he won, he knew it.
Speaker 2:Mm-hmm.
Speaker 1:Okay, so moving on. So apparently we're going to stay with the National Dog Show for today, because you have to. It's for right after Thanksgiving. So what?
Speaker 3:because you have to, it's for right after Thanksgiving. So what I just have to say, yes, vito, vito, when he walked he's so cute, he was like, it was like gliding.
Speaker 1:Yeah, and his legs? His chest is wider and his legs stand out. Instead of going to get like you know, they're like out in second position.
Speaker 3:Yeah.
Speaker 1:It's something special about that guy, but his walk is very nice, very great walk.
Speaker 3:I don't know if that even matters. Does that matter? I don't know.
Speaker 1:I think it does. And you know some of these, some of these dogs couldn't get it together out there. I know they were like I was like what's happening? And one of them was like flipping and twirling and the what do you call the people they're not the trainers the walker person was like calm it down, get it together. They just couldn't. So I found out a little bit about this. So let me go into this National Dog Show.
Speaker 1:So first let's talk about the grooming, because I mean that one poodle with the pom-pom butt, that was a little out roundish, but I know whatever. So every so the people, all they they get. There's 1,800 dogs, 180 different breeds. So in the back they all have their own grooming people and plans and what to do and procedures. Some of them just get a bath and then get fluffed out with a blow dryer and then combed out to be straight. Then there's this thing called chalk, to be straight. Then there's this thing called chalk. Many of us use a little bit of chalk or cornstarch on the feet to brighten the white and make the fur stand out.
Speaker 3:Yeah.
Speaker 1:So the first time I heard about chalk I was on a. We were on a shoot for Petco. Both of us were on it and there was a big beagle there and they're like, do you have chalk for him? And I was like, tink, what does that mean? So apparently it's something that they use on to brighten the white. Nobody's ever put chalk on me I'm white and Tink's white, but so that I found interesting.
Speaker 1:And then it says that they trim them even though they got a trim. And then it says that they trim them even though they got to trim. They trim them backstage to make sure that they're nice and smooth. You have to make sure you trim the inside of the bulldog's ears before they go out for the competition because apparently they get very hairy very fast. So how fast? Very fast. And it says you have to keep their toenails short. So they're constantly cutting all of the dog's toenails. They use baby wipes to wipe their faces and jaws because when they eat and drink some of the dogs get wet or sloppy. Yeah, it's amazing.
Speaker 1:So this Schnauzer guy gets washed three times a day and gets dried three times a day. Remember him? Yes, I remember that one. And he gets washed three times a day and gets dried three times a day. Remember him? Yes, I remember that one, and he gets hair sprayed twice a day. So this isn't like us. We just get a bath and go to set. These dogs have their own grooming team and tricks and hairspray. We've never had hairspray. And three times a day. What is he doing to get so dirty?
Speaker 3:That seems like a lot of time dedicated to just grooming.
Speaker 1:Well, they want to win best in show and I guess their cleanliness counts. Okay, so the next story about the National Dog Show. This is interesting. The National Dog Show handlers say they're stuck during the show because of one rule. Oh, handler there you go?
Speaker 1:The handlers yes the handler, the handlers and groomers shared what they found difficult to navigate about the National Dog Show. It's a benched show, so all breeds are found in designated locations. Throughout the event, handlers and their dogs stay in their assigned spots or benches, except when showing or taking a bathroom break. You can't leave, you have to stay there all day, because this way the visitors come and they can meet and greet the people and the dogs and they can talk about the breed and get educated. So, in other words, you know how we go to set and we stay until we're done and released. Yeah, this is an entire day. They have to sit there in this little area and not leave Whoa, and they find that that's the most difficult thing because you're they call it benched that is very difficult.
Speaker 1:See, well, it is packed back there. I guess they also don't want everyone walking around and getting the other dogs excited and nervous. But I found that interesting. I didn't know that. I didn't know those grooming tricks. I didn't know that I didn't know those grooming tricks. I didn't know that, any of that. So this next story is not about the National Dog Show.
Speaker 1:Okay, you excited, tink, I'm excited. Okay, let's hear it. Here we go. Studies find why getting kids a pet for Christmas may be great for their health. So this comes from Gothenburg, sweden. Could the secret to reducing childhood allergies be as simple as growing up with a pet or living on a farm? A fascinating study out of Sweden suggests it just might be. So they explored how the microbiota in an infant's gut, the collection of microbes that begins to form at birth, might play a crucial role in determining the risk of allergies later in life. Their findings hint at a remarkable relationship between early microbial exposure and the immune system development.
Speaker 1:Allergies have become increasingly common, affecting millions of children worldwide. Yet the reason for their rise remain elusive. Past studies noted patterns Child rays on farms or in homes with pet often have lower allergy rates. But why? It's the farm effect, it's called. So. They followed 65 kids and they realized that the proof is if you're raised with animals, you are less likely to develop allergies. Oh, because you're around all of these different microbial things See like farm animals, because they have so many different scents and furs and dander and everything. So if you're raised with them, you'll become immune to that.
Speaker 1:So that's, why they're saying if you don't, there's like exposure. So then, If you get your kid a pet for a dog for Christmas, they're less likely to have allergies to dogs.
Speaker 3:Well, I don't think just for Christmas, I mean it could be for. Well, they're saying, it's a good Christmas present. Yeah.
Speaker 1:They're just saying it's a good Christmas present and it's a very interesting long, very long story. But the end result is they found, if you grow up with pets from young age, you're better off with less allergies. As you get older, got it, yeah. So I thought that was interesting.
Speaker 3:I think it's very interesting.
Speaker 1:Yeah, and that, I think, is my last story, my fourth story, fourth and last story Of the pop culture, for the pop culture, for today, for our day.
Speaker 3:Pop culture.
Speaker 1:I know I talked really fast. I'm tired from talking so fast. But, I did enjoy watching the dog show. Yeah, I actually enjoyed it too. We did pick the winner.
Speaker 3:I mean I said the Italian name Vito Vito it reminds me of like a pizza place or something and you know what's funny he has.
Speaker 1:Like he seems like a stereotypical, like Italian guy you'd find in Brooklyn with the big chest. So his name is perfect Vito.
Speaker 3:His name is definitely so perfect.
Speaker 1:Yeah, like Vito is in the pizza shop and he just is like this.
Speaker 3:There was just something about him as soon as he was up in the toy group, or puns in toy group, when he won, I was like that's the, what was that toy group? Or poison toy group? When he won, I was like that's the dog. I was like I just knew it, his face, the way he looked, yeah, and then, as each group won, they would put the winner up there that had to compete for best in show and I was like nope and then we had a second place guy that we were like oh, yeah, that was the other one, verde, with the boobs right.
Speaker 3:No, oh, no, no, no, that was the Jit. Who was that the Jit, jit?
Speaker 1:Jat, jit, jit, I don't know Something. Yeah, we liked that one too. Yeah, we liked that one too, but we liked Verde, verde the day.
Speaker 3:Yeah.
Speaker 1:Yeah, that was fun. So let us know what your thoughts. And if you won, if you picked the picker, pick the winner. But most important, go get your merch 30% off. Oh yeah, it's a must.
